I suppose I am good then as this engine was previously TT'd, I bought it knowing it had been rebuilt once before (heads were off and it still had stock bore). Upon further dis-assembly, I noticed it was an NA block, wasn't sure if the NA's had thinner cylinder walls or something goofy like that. But there has to be some difference between 30P and 40P blocks, it just doesn't make sense to cast two different parts just for a different designation. I'll keep trying to look into this. Also, I found the rebar method googling after posting and doesn't seem very preferable to me, I will try to find some of the long die grinders.
